Dining out as a Vegan

I am training myself to be able to dine out with friends and family.  PD invited me for lunch at Lugang Cafe in MOA.  I told her as long as I can order vegetables, I am good.

Lucky me, they have several vegetarian dishes.

I chose the Stir-Fried Mushroom Noodles.

I loved it!  Maybe for non vegans they can try the other noodle dishes.

Steamed Vegetable Dumplings.

PD ordered the Oyster Omelette

and Sweet and Sour Pork.

I was not even interested in the food PD ordered.

For dessert, PD had the Red Bean shaved ice.

The waitress already warned us that it is such a tall tower!  Did we listen? No.  Plus, I could not eat it because of the condensed milk.

My dessert was the Mango Shaved Ice!

YUM!!!! Delicious and not too sweet.

I am allowed fruits and fruit juices, so this dessert was right up my alley.

So now, I am happy I can still dine out with friends and family as long as I make the right choice of food.

What I like about the new diet I am following is that there is no calorie counting nor portion control.

For breakfast, it was honeydew melon

and oatmeal sprinkled with cinnamon and I added dried Bing Cherries.

Cinnamon has special blood glucose lowering powers.

Dinner was just Salad with Black Grapes, Fuji Apple and Mango with no dressing.

I used the left over pomodoro sauce and just added sauteed chopped mushrooms.  Then I toasted the rye bread and spread it on top.

I do not how what to call it, bruschetta or cheeseless pizza?  Whatever name it is called, it does not matter because it tasted really delish!

Sometimes, I am surprised the vegetarian dishes I have been cooking taste better than cardboard.  I am still in high spirits, positive that this lifestyle change will work for me.  I am so happy my friends and family have been very supportive even if Yaya Hermie is not! Hahahahaha! She said it is not going to work and that I should stop what I am doing.  But I will show her!!!
