Jing and I met up with a friend in Bangkok!
While Jing and I were shopping in Siam Paragon, our friend, Aphro, heard women speaking in Tagalog! She went inside Zara and saw us!
Our meeting time was 11:30 near the entrance of the supermarket but we got together earlier than our appointed hour.
We had lunch at Chingcha Charlie at the basement of Paragon.
Appetizers... Fish cakes
And.... Thai Fried Chicken.
Then we ordered Tom Yum Soup.
It was so creamy and flavorful. Sometimes, the Tom Yum we would order here in Manila would taste like sinigang.
Pad Thai
Something like Gado Gado. I forgot the name of this vegetable dish. You dip the vegetables in fermented shrimps.
Aphro treated us for dessert at Stickhouse! Thank you!
As usual, I loved it!
I had the pistachio ice cream dipped in milk chocolate then rolled in crushed pistachio nuts.
When we got home, the Bulalo soup was waiting for us!
4 beef shanks filled with bone marrow as long as my forearm was manna from heaven!
The bone marrow was so buttery in taste and texture!
Imagine eating it with Thai patis and sili! I had to eat it very fast because the fat was congealing already.
After my 3rd beef shank, Tita Jit and Jing told me to stop eating! Jing said she did not want to bring my remains home to the Philippines! Hahahahaha They were afraid for me.
Breakfast was always an early affair. I had to set the alarm clock at 5:30 am. Add 30 minutes for snoozing plus another 30 minutes for FB. We would leave the guest house at 7:00. Most breakfast establishments only open until 8 or 9 and then they close shop.
Congee
Fresh Mushroom Soup with lime juice.
Soft boiled black rice cooked by the Lola Yaya of Tita Jit.
Fried rice with vegetables.
Pata Tim with rice, egg and pickled mustard.
We accompanied Tita to Vichaiyut Hospital for her check up.
View from the cafeteria.
Then went to the military coop market to buy food.
Edemame
Chicharon
Satay
Sauce
Next on the itinerary was Chinatown market.
Look at the aligue of the crabs!!!!
Literally, to die for!
Fish crackers made from the intestines of the fish.
I bought hibe.
Pad Thai noodles and white peppercorn.
Tita let us try the Som Tam!
It is always paired with Thai fried Chicken.
Sticky rice which we rolled into little balls then dipped in the dressing of the Som Tam.
Another 2 days of non stop eating!
Part 4 is coming up next!
