Thai Crab Curry

I recently learned how to cook Thai Curry Crab!

Tita Jit demonstrated how it was done! Very easy!

Hahahaha Easy because Hermie did the cleaning of the live crabs!

That is very difficult! I would rather not do it.

Thai Crab Curry

2 K. Crabs

1 head garlic, crushed

2-4 pcs Thai chili

2 tall cans evaporated milk

1 t. Salt or to taste

1 t. Black pepper

1 t. MSG

1-2 t. Waugh's Curry powder

1/4 C. Nam Prik

2 eggs, beaten

Kinchay and Spring onions for garnishing.

Clean the crabs. Remove the spongy gills.

Save the fat in a bowl.

Ff

Crack the claws.

Saute garlic until fragrant and light brown in color. Add the chili peppers.

Saute the claws until half cooked. Remove and set aside.

Add the remaining crabs and saute until half cooked. Remove and set aside.

Saute the crab fat.

Add the evaporated milk. Season with salt, pepper and MSG.

Add the Nam Prik, stir while cooking.

Add the half cooked crabs and claws.

Simmer until the color of the shell changes. Pour the beaten eggs and stir while doing so.

Garnish with kinchay and spring onions.

Yum!!!!

Tita Jit also cooked Squid in Red Egg Yolk Sauce with Green Peppercorn!

Hermie cooked Ginataang Langka.

When we went to Farmer's I bought super fatty short ribs for Sinigang!

Cholesterol overload.

I experimented with a casserole dish. Tita Jit gave me the sauce.

Hmmmm, it did not turn out the way it was supposed to be.

I just followed the instructions on the pack.

Jing and her sibling, Tricia and Bo ( Tita Jit's blood relatives) joined us for dinner.

Mona is a relative by affinity and I am a relative because I'm their long lost sister from another planet!

That was a fast visit. Tita Jit is going home to Bangkok tomorrow!

Until your next visit!

Tita Jit's Day Out in Cebu

I was just in Cebu for a few hours today just to eat!

Hahahahaha So, what's new?

Tita Jit is in town from Bangkok.

We did a day trip with Mona!

The very first stop was Rico's Lechon in Mabolo beside Sykes.

My favorite is the Spicy variant.

Mona and Tita Jit shared an order of the regular lechon.

CNT used to be my very first stop whenever I am in Cebu but not anymore.

We then went to the Abaca Baking Company at Crossroad Arcade.

I could look but not eat nor touch.

I was there to buy bread rolls for my friends.

The last time I was in Cebu with Ate, we had merienda at Majestic, Ayala Center.

I could not forget the sio mai so I ordered my own.

Tita Jit and Mona were eyeing my sio mai, they just ordered another to share between the two of them.

Another unforgetable must eat was the Snow Halo Halo!

My very own! I did not have to share it!

I loved the fact that they used frozen shaved milk. It was like snow flurries!!!

Best of all, it was not too sweet.

My favorite pasalubong for pork lovers is Tropical Chicharon! Look at all the fat!!!

There is a small kiosk in Metro Supermarket. It is closed on Mondays because it is the day off of the vendor.

Before we headed back to the airport, we bought lechon from different establishments. No more space in the stomach, so all for take out.

Rico's

CNT

Ayer

Zubuchon.

We Had our merienda at their Marina Mactan Mall branch.

Pancit Sotanghon

Lechon

I do not eat Zubuchon lechon so they just got the rice meal.

Fried peanuts with chicharon.

And my super favorite Ube Halaya Cheesecake!

Even though I was so tired after the eating marathon I still love Cebu.

I want to go back and eat my favorite food all over again!!!

I thank you and my stomach thanks you, Tita Jit!

I'm Sick

I caught a nasty flu bug last week and I have been in bed for almost 3 days now!

The works!

Coughing

Runny nose

Sneezing

Dizziness

Headache

Sore throat.

Nausea

I was supoosed to undergo Naso Laryncospy today but the doctor cancelled it.

My voice has been hoarse for 9, well on October...going on for 10 months now.

I'm not a very good patient. I'm very needy and demanding.

Hopefully, I feel better soon and continue my cooking and eating spree.

My body probably broke down because it needed to rest. I've been going on and on like an energizer bunny.

Dra. Cristina said it is my body's way of telling me to slow down.

How sick am I? I have Coke Zero in the fridge and I don't even want to drink it.

My friends know that I would not let an opportunity to drink Coke Zero pass by.

So that's how sick I am.

I want to get well already!!!!

Hoping and praying!

Carbo Loading at Jasmine

It's my last day to eat carbs!!!! I am going back to my Low Carb High Fat diet tomorrow.

I'm like the boy who cried wolf but instead of wolf, I'm the girl who cried, DIET!

I had lunch with my Ate at Jamine, New World Hotel.

We had the Unlimited Dimsum.

Shrimp Dumpling - Hakao

Siomai

Steamed BBQ Buns

Chicken Feet with Taosi

Steamed Spareribs

Xiao Long Bao

Hot and Sour Soup

Spinach and Seafood Soup

Baked Pork BBQ Puffs

Ham Suy Kok

Taro Puff

Seafood, crabstick roll

Mochi with Chocolate

Mango Cream with Sago

Whew! If that is not carbo loading, I don't know what you call what I did!

Thank goodness I was wearing a dress!

So tomorrow and for the next coming days, I'm warning everybody already.

It will be a difficult 1 week withdrawal period so bear with my cravings which I cannot have!

I will whine and whine and pull my hair! I will not be a good companion for the next 7-10 days but I will get over it.

Devils! Don't tempt me!

Wish me luck and say a little prayer that I will get throught the withdrawal period and stick to my diet, this time around.
