Feast of St. Francis of Assisi

St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of Bel-Air 3 under the umbrella of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Bel-Air 2.

We had a "fellowship" after the mass. In Church-speak, fellowship means...... lots of FOOD!

The celebrations in the past were always held at Bel-Air 3 Multi-Purpose hall but the complex is under renovations right now, so we had the fiesta at the Parish.

My contribution was Fried Lumpiang Ubod.

Vinnie, our sub-parish head, ordered Embutido from me.

The rolls were a little bit "toasted" because I was in the shower when the alarm sounded! But some people prefer it that way.

After the homily, I snuck out from church and took a peek at the food.

Pork BBQ

Roast Chicken

Potato Salad

Vegetable Lasagna

Pancit Bihon - the Bilbao was as big as the tire of a truck!

Pancit Palabok - same size as the Bihon

Puto - again the Bilbao was the size of a truck's wheel

Native Kakanin from the Q Kitchen

Sweet Saba Banana.

There was no blessing of the pets this year because the Church was a bit far from the residents of Bel-Air 3. It would be hard to transport the animals. Especially Wriggly who gets car sick!

Hopefully, next year the renovations will be over so we can have our traditional St. Francis of Assisi celebrations at the park.
