Beef with Mushrooms on a bed of Mashed Potatoes

I was in a cooking mood today. I had this boiled boneless shank in the freezer for days and thought it was about time I do something with it. My experiment for the day was.....

Beef with Mushrooms on a bed of Mashed Potatoes

1/2 K. Boneless beef shank, boiled and cut into big cubes

1 c. Soup stock

1/2 Knorr Beef cube

Cooking oil

2 T. Butter

1 white onion, chopped

1/2 C. Canned button mushrooms, sliced

Freshly cracked black pepper

Knorr seasoning

Dilute the Knorr beef cube in soup stock, set aside.

Brown the beef in cooking oil, set aside.

In the same frying pan where the beef was browned, add the butter and sauté the onions until soft.

Add the mushrooms and continue cooking for a few minutes.

Then add the browned beef cubes.

Pour the stock and let the sauce reduce until you get the consistency you like.

Add a few dashes of Knorr Seasoning and freshly cracked black pepper.

Serve on a bed of Mashed Potatoes.

Mashed Potatoes (2 servings)

150 g. potato, peeled, cubed and boiled in salted water

2 T. Butter

2 T. Fresh milk

Pepper

Mash the potato with a fork. Add the butter and then the milk. Season with pepper.
